Does the responder need an app or an account?

Nothing at all: they scan your Dropward and your emergency profile opens right in their phone's browser, with no app and no account. You, on your side, only create an account to set up and update your profile.

Will a responder actually find my Dropward on me?

Accepted Answer

Looking for medical information is part of first-responder training: once the first priorities are handled, they check what the person is wearing, their wallet and their phone. That is exactly where Dropward objects live, and nobody needs to know the brand: each object says “EMERGENCY INFO” in plain words, next to a large QR code everyone recognizes. Nobody can promise that one specific object will be seen: that is why the same profile can be worn on several objects at once, and each one multiplies the odds.

Can just anyone see my info?

No, not just anyone. Your profile is not indexed by search engines: it cannot be found by typing your name or by browsing the web. In practice, only someone physically holding your Dropward object (sticker badge, card or keychain) can open your profile. That is exactly the point: in an emergency, a responder or a passer-by can reach your vital info without being stopped by a login or a password. To stay comfortable, the good practice is to put on it only what genuinely helps in an emergency (blood type, allergies, important medications, contacts to call) and to leave out anything a responder would not need.

Is it a one-time purchase or a subscription?

A one-time purchase. You pay only once to activate your emergency profile for life, one object of your choice included, with no subscription and no recurring fees. Filling in your profile before you pay costs nothing, and you never pay again to update it.

Which object should I pick?

Accepted Answer

Whichever you will actually carry. The badge sticks to the back of your phone, the card slips into your wallet, the keychain rides on your keyring. All three open the same profile, and many people take a second or a third one, because a responder looks at whatever is to hand, and the more you carry, the better the chance one is found.

Why is it written in English on the object?

English is the universal language of emergencies: the words printed on your Dropward ("TAP PHONE", "EMERGENCY INFO") are understood anywhere, by any responder, even abroad. That English is only those few printed words. Your actual vital info shows automatically in the language of whoever scans it.

How do I fill in my profile?

Two ways. Photograph your blood-type card, prescription or allergy card and we pre-fill the fields for you, or type everything in by hand. Either way you always review and confirm before anything is saved.

Is my data private and GDPR-compliant?

Accepted Answer

Your data is hosted in the EU and health information is encrypted. When you use a photo to pre-fill your profile, the image is processed and then discarded, never stored.

Does it call emergency services automatically?

Accepted Answer

Never. Dropward only shows your information and makes it easy to call your emergency contacts by hand. Triggering a real call is always a human decision, never an automatic one.

Does the sticker badge get in the way of wireless charging?

Accepted Answer

Only the badge sticks to a phone, so it is the only object concerned. And no, it gets in the way of nothing if you stick it low on the back, which is exactly why we show it there. The charging coil sits in the centre of the phone, and that is the only spot to avoid. Moving the badge sideways would not clear it, since the charging ring is nearly as wide as the phone itself. Placed in the lower third, it leaves the charging area free and your phone charges normally, MagSafe included.

How does the responder's phone read my object?

Through a tiny chip with no battery, sitting inside your object: the contactless technology of your bank card, known as NFC. The responder holds their phone a centimetre or two away, the chip is read, and your emergency profile opens, with nothing to install. The sticker badge, the card and the keychain all carry that chip, plus a QR code for phones without NFC.

What if the responder's phone has no NFC?

Every Dropward object also carries a QR code. If a phone can't tap, the responder simply scans the code with the camera and your emergency profile opens the same way.
